Distance Learning Expectations in Kindergarten4/17/2020 We understand you have all probably been overwhelmed by emails and other communication from us, the district, other children's teachers and more. We appreciate how hard you are working to maintain a school setting in your homes in addition to the many other jobs you need to complete while at home. To help simplify a bit, we will post the minimum requirements for our classroom here, so you can hopefully feel a little more connected. REQUIRED DAILY EXPECTATIONS (EVERY DISTANCE LEARNING SCHOOL DAY): 1. Sign in your child using the attendance link. 2. Select and complete 2-3 activities from the Kindergarten Flex Learning Board (the boards are emailed to you every Monday for the week). 3. Post something (photo, video, drawing, attachment) showing some of your child's work at least once a week on SeeSaw. If you are having trouble with SeeSaw, you can email us a photo, video or attachment of your child's work instead. All other websites, apps and activities are OPTIONAL. Hopefully this information is helpful, but if you have questions please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's classroom teacher with questions. Thanks again for all you are doing! We would like to remind you that we have a link to various learning websites in the menu for our website. Additionally, the Woodland Home Page provides access to a few sites under the "Students" tab.
We have our field trip to the Minnesota Children's Museum coming up in just two weeks! In addition to all the regular attractions, the museum has a new Hot Wheels exhibit as well as a fun exhibit called "Noodle Town". In case you didn't know. Target Corporation hosts "Free Third Sundays" EVERY month at the Minnesota Children's Museum, and THIS Sunday happens to be the third Sunday in February-just an idea ;-) On field trip day, if you did not order a lunch from the school cooks, please remember to pack your child a lunch in disposable packaging (paper bags, ziplock bags, etc.). We also ask that all the children wear their tie-dyed "class shirts", or the class color, if the shirt isn't available. We are looking forward to an awesome field trip! Due to extreme cold, school is closed today. We hope you all find ways to stay warm and have a little fun on this extra day off! Today was going to be our 100th day of school, so with the day off, the 100th day will be on Friday. We will celebrate both the 100th day of school AND Valentine's Day, so we know it will be a memorable day!
If you are signed up to help at the party on Friday afternoon, please plan to arrive a little before 3:00. If you do not remember where you have been assigned to help, please ask Mrs. Titus at the sign-in table. Thank you, and we will see you tomorrow! |
