Hi Kindergarten Parents!
Thank you all for meeting with us at conferences to talk about your wonderful children and set goals for the school year! We practice MANY skills every day in our classrooms-academic skills, social skills and plain old life skills! As we work with your children to help them become more independent, one of our expectations is that they will be able to get in and out of their 'outside gear' quickly and with very little adult assistance. To help us meet this goal, we ask that you make some time at home to have your child practice getting in and out of jackets, boots, mittens, snowpants etc. You can make it a game-time them to see how long it takes and graph their progress! Some school-savvy tips: *LABEL EVERYTHING! Permanent marker and fabric paint work best. You would not believe how many black, size small snowpants get strewn all over the floor and eventually make their way to the lost and found (or the wrong home) each year! *TUCK MITTENS, HATS and SCARVES in the SLEEVES OF YOUR COAT *KEEP AN EXTRA PAIR OF SOCKS IN YOUR CHILD'S BACKPACK *SEND A PLASTIC OR REUSABLE BAG (LABELLED) FOR WET SNOWGEAR TO GO TO AND FROM SCHOOL Thank you so much! With your help, we may be able to prevent tears, missed recess time and lots of extra Target and WalMart trips for additional snowgear!

Dear Parents and Guardians, It is time to schedule your children’s Parent/Teacher Conference. We will use on-line scheduling for grades K-5. Conferences will be held in your child’s classroom. Conference dates are: October 13th, October 20th and October 22nd. The Scholastic Book Fair will run the same hours as our conferences. At this time, on-line scheduling is available to reserve a time with your child’s homeroom teacher only. If you require time with another teacher, please contact them directly. Please use the following link:: http://www.ptcfast.com/schools/Woodland_Elementary_School If for some reason you need to change a conference time, simply log in to the program and you will be given directions on how to choose a new time from available slots. If you do not have internet access or can’t get the site to work, please contact us via phone at 763-315-6400 and we will assist you in scheduling your conference time. We look forward to seeing you in October. Sincerely, Toni Beckler Jill Metil Principal Assistant Principal and the Kindergarten Team! |
